...And Coming...

Dean's folks came for a visit and brought Anderson along in case it got too quiet in the car (ha ha ha). They had a great time with the kids for a week and left Sunday morning with a case of exhaustion. Brave people taking on Katie and Anderson for a week! They did some site-seeing - Butterfly Gardens, Beacon Hill, downtown Victoria - and just spent a lot of time enjoying the grandkids. Nana is happy that she is the favourite and enjoyed all her extra Katie hugs. Because they didn't do enough driving on the way here from Saskatoon, we decided to do the Marine Loop drive the day after they arrived. So, we drove up to Chemainus and checked out the murals, had some lunch and headed back through Duncan to Lake Cowichan for a dip. Katie was still slightly afraid of the water (OK, screaming and clinging to me like velcro, lol) so she played with a puppy on the beach instead. The drive then continues down to Port Renfrew (the road has been there a long time but was only recently paved). And then up the highway to Sooke. We experienced a total heat wave while they were here. Rather unusual but provided the kids several opportunities to get wet. They were 'helping' me water the plants one evening! Looks like Katie will grow well in the sun - oh, wait, she's not a plant! On their last night, Dean and I took Anderson to the movies and saw Ice Age III in 3D. Great movie! Far better than the second one and possibly even better than the first. Thanks for visiting us!!
