Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving (again) this year. And lots to be thankful for: my wonderful parents for agreeing to work on our yard with us (and for being just all around wonderful parents); our wonderful friends whom we joined for Thanksgiving dinner; our own little family; and all our other friends and family, near and far. Having three days in which to get something done, Dean and I decided it would be a good opportunity to fix up the back yard and make it a nice place to play. We recruited my Mom and Dad to come over with the rototiller, dig up the back lawn and put down new seed. The idea is to have a lovely, grassy lawn next spring that Katie can enjoy. Of course, these types of projects are always a little more work than one thinks they will be! But it got done. Mom also beautified all the flowerbeds (again - thanks Mom!!). She has warned that this will be the last time! To break up all that work monotony, we accepted a generous invitation from Christine and Simon to join them for Thanksgiving dinner on the Sunday. We were joined by Rick and Mandi, and Jay and Keri. Of course the kids were there too: Reece, Marley and Jackson. It was a great evening and we are thankful to have such wonderful friends here in Sooke to share special moments with.
